EXPLANATION
SANCTIONS A JUDGE MAY ORDER

Forceful eviction from home without due legal process

The law prohibits a person from intentionally forcing his or her spouse out of his or her home or from refusing him or her access to their home.

People who attempt to commit such act of violence; or incite; aid; abet; counsel; receive or assist another person in committing such act are also punished.
Imprisonment for 2 years or less depending on the cirmcumstances of each case; or a fine of less than ₦300,000 or both imprisonment and a fine.
