Right to freedom from discrimination: derives from the fact that all people are equal and must be treated equally.

The right to freedom from discrimination ensures protection to all Nigerians from being treated differently and unfairly, because of their belonging to a particular community, ethnic group, place of origin, sex, religion, political opinion or circumstances of birth. Such different or unfair treatment could result from the application of laws; executive or administrative action, which creates unfair distinctions between people on the ground of some characteristics innate to them.
